Itinerary

Anyone who stays in this part of Scotland is in for a real treat. It's not too far to reach so it's perfect for a 5 day break and yet it's arguably the most beautiful location in Scotland with Lochs, Glens,  and pretty villages at every turn.

Here's what one travel writer said about one of the areas we'll visit...

"The 10 miles drive to Tighnabruaich from Glendaruel, is not just a passage from one sublime spot to another but is a destination in itself. But the gob-smacking highlight is the A8003, running down the western Kyle of Bute."

Itinerary

We'll be taking that same road on one of our days out...here's the full details...

DAY 1: Meet our coach this morning for a leisurely journey up into Scotland as we head for Gourock. From here we take the Ferry over to Dunoon (takes about half an hour and there's lovely views of the Islands of Bute and Cumbrae) We land at Hunters Quay and from here it's only a short way to the hotel in Dunoon. (Time to settle-in and freshen up before dinner this evening.)

DAY 2: We'll take a scenic meandering drive to Loch Lomand and spend some time in the small village of Luss on the Banks of Loch Lomond. It is extremely picturesque and the cottages are so quaint and pretty, especially during the summer. The village was actually used as the set for a TV programme by the name of "Take The High Road" which was screened a few years ago. After a while at Loch Lomond we visit the attractive seaside town of Helensburgh.

DAY 3: We'll enjoy another picture-postcard drive through the Argyll Forest and along the shores of Loch Fyne and spend time in Inveraray.

DAY 4: Today, our day out takes us through the Glendaruel Forest to the Kyles of Bute to spend some time in the peaceful sailing resort of Tighnabruaich and we'll get some fabulous views across the Kyles of Bute and beyond. (this is the drive the travel writer talked about)

DAY 5: Sadly, it's time to go home (after a last hearty Scottish breakfast) We don't take the Ferry on the way home so we can enjoy a bit more of Argyll and the famous 'rest and be thankful' summit which features on the road home.
