We are a family-run business with plenty of experience

GB Tours is a well-respected UK coach holiday company with more than 38 years’ experience in the business. Established in Birkenhead, Wirral in 1984, our family-owned firm started out selling concert tickets and coach breaks to passengers in and around the Merseyside area. Today – still run by the same family – we operate more than 15 routes all over England and Wales, offering a wide range of day trips, mini breaks and longer coach holidays throughout the UK, plus an increasing number of European trips and sea and river cruises. Every year we take nearly 60,000 passengers away – many of them returning again and again because they know they can trust us to offer what they want, at a price they can afford.

We offer consistently high standards and great value for money

Our passengers regularly praise us on the value for money we provide. Because most of our holidays are booked direct, we are able to negotiate special deals with the hotels and transport suppliers we use, many of whom we have excellent longstanding relationships with. For you, the passengers, this means we are able to keep our prices down while maintaining our consistently high standards. All of the hotels we use are highly rated (most of them obtaining three and four stars), and we only use the best, comfiest coaches going…

We give friendly, helpful advice

You’ll find our experienced Reservations Team – most of whom have been with us for a long time – care that you find the perfect holiday for you. They won’t ever push you into booking something which isn’t suitable for your needs – for instance, if you have limited mobility. Most of our team have visited the hotels and resorts we travel to, so have first-hand experience they can pass on, enabling you to make a more informed choice.

We don’t use ‘feeder’ coaches

Passengers have told us time and time again they dislike the ‘feeder coach’ experience offered by many other holiday companies. The endless pick-up points, wandering around all over the country before heading to the destination, plus the transferring of luggage from one coach to another and hanging around in car parks, is a cause of frustration and irritation. Well, we’re proud that we never use feeder coaches – you’ll get on one coach at your pick-up point and stay on it until you reach your resort. That means you experience a smoother, quicker, more enjoyable journey – and, we believe, an all-round better holiday.

We offer carefully-planned itineraries

We think a coach holiday firm should do more than just take you to and from a hotel. The majority of our breaks include interesting and popular excursions to a wide variety of local attractions, plus free days to relax and do as you please. The excursions are all included in our price, so there’ll be no hidden extras to pay – and of course, if you don’t want to join us you don’t have to!

ABBA Voyage, London (A)

The tour was great & no problem with any of the arrangements. Will the coach driver was excellent with his commentaries around London. When we got to London we got dropped off in the city for the Borough market, and had time to eat. We then went straight to the arena for the show. The seats and the show were both excellent. After the show we drove to the hotel Double tree by Hilton in the Docklands and arrived by 9 pm. Breakfast was amazing in the morning and the hotel provides a free ferry over to Canary Wharf which takes 3 minutes each way so we did that & got great pics of the hotel & riverside. We then drove to London & got dropped off by Covent Garden for 3 hours free time. Then started for home at 2:30 pm. Great trip thank you

Warner's Lakeside Village, Hayling Island (D)

We had never been to Warners Leisure at Lakeside on Hayling Island before so were not entirely sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. We had decided to upgrade to Bay Cottage and were very pleased with everything there. Everywhere on site was clean and tidy and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The menus have been updated and we found that there was plenty to choose from for both breakfast and dinner. The table you have for meals is also where you sit to watch the evening entertainment. We have to say that the in-house singer and band Central Park were fabulous as were the other members of the entertainment team. We thoroughly enjoyed our days out, helped by the warm sunny weather and by our fab driver, Andy. Winchester Cathedral is stunning and Arundel is a pretty little place to visit. We would certainly visit again.

Worcester & Wye Valley Mini Break (E)

I’ve just had a most enjoyable break with yourselves to Worcester and Ross on Wye. My sister and I always have a trip with you every year and as always..it was lovely The coach was on time and very comfortable. Carl was very helpful and very cheerful. He made sure we were safe and told us in detail where the pick ups would be on the trip. Worcester is a busy city with lots to see and do with lovely shops and cafes. The hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. It was perfectly placed right across the road from a lot of restaurants of all tastes. We enjoyed a lovely meal and it was very reasonably priced and only had to walk a couple of hundred yards back to the hotel. After a very peaceful sleep and a very enjoyable breakfast we set off to Symons Yat. We had a great cruise along the river whilst enjoying complementary tea and biscuits. We then visited Ross on Wye. My sister and I know this town as it was where our mum was born. It has lovely little shops and cafes and everyone was so friendly. I must say though, we would have liked to have stayed longer and perhaps forfeited the visit to Ledbury…not that there were any complaints…as Ledbury is lovely too any probably enjoy visitors to their little shops. We did notice that everywhere we visited, there were no empty shops which was nice to see . We had a very comfortable ride home and Carl made sure we were safe and that the trip was most pleasant. Thankyou so much for such a lovely weekend away. Can’t wait to choose our next adventure !! It would be nice if the Shrewsbury weekend trip was reintroduced. We really enjoyed that trip, hotel and river cruise.

Spain's Green Coast (D-U-S)

This was our second GBTours visit to the Juan de la Cosa hotel as we had enjoyed it so much in 2019. It did not disappoint, in fact it was even better. Our return ferry crossings were smooth and comfortable in clean if rather compact cabins. The crew were all friendly and the breakfasts and dinners were very good with plenty of choice. The hotel itself is situated right on the beach with lovely views. It is still just as impressive as before - immaculate and comfortable, lovely staff and an excellent choice of food for breakfast, tapas and dinner, to say nothing of the delicious local beers, wines and sangria. We booked a seaview room and were delighted. The town of Santõna is a very short local bus ride away or a longer flat walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursions, particularly the scenery and medieval towns. Our driver Andy was brilliant, as usual, doing a sterling job in his own inimitable way.

Lake District and Yorkshire Dales (C)

Another lovely value for money holiday. The hotel was very good with very enjoyable excursions around the lovely Lake District. Special thanks to Mark our excellent driver , very friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next GB tours holiday.

Bala Lake Steam Railway Day Trip (D)

Brilliant day trip. Our driver Graham was a great driver and perfect host, good dry sense of humour. Great day as rain poured down when on the coach but sun came out whenever it was time to get off. Shame Graham had to drive through it all. Bala lake train ride was lovely, hadn't realised the lake was that big and we enjoyed the trip. On to Betwys y coed and arriving at The Royal Oak hotel we were well received and did not have to wait long for our beer battered fish, chips and peas with lemon wedge, large portions and felt really stuffed after sticky toffee sponge pudding and ice cream. Could not fault the food whatsoever. We had a couple of hours to walk off our lunch along the river and saw a heron on the bank. Usual range of shops and cafes in these touristy spots. A day well enjoyed by all three of us.
