Itinerary: Coach this morning to the market town of Tewkesbury. Famous of course for it's splendid, ancient Abbey.
It’s time for an early lunch in one of the several charming tea rooms in Tewkesbury as we’ll be enjoying a fantastic ride through the Cotswolds later. As it’s quite early you will be treated to quiche, wedges and salad, all served with tea or coffee.
Next we go to Cheltenham Racecourse Train Station and board a beautifully restored locomotive (often steam powered) which meanders through the breathtaking Cotswolds countryside.
The passing vista includes; Cleeve Cloud - the highest point in the Cotswolds, Severn Vale and the Avon Valley plains. First stop is at Gotherington Station.
There are then further exhilarating views of the Shropshire Hills before passing through the Greet Tunnel which is one of the longest tunnels on a British heritage railway at 693 yards.
Further stop at Winchcombe Station before passing over the River Isbourne and astounding views of Sudeley Castle. We will pass through Toddington before joining the new section of track which opens in April 2018. We will travel over the 15 arches of Stanway Viaduct and see Laverton before arriving into Broadway.
After a short stop we begin our trip back to Cheltenham - giving you the opportunity to glimpse any of the sights you missed on the way.
Your coach will be waiting at Cheltenham to take you home.
