Day 1: Meet our coach this morning for a leisurely journey up into Scotland as we head for Gourock. From here we take the ferry over to Dunoon (takes about half an hour and there’s lovely views of the Islands of Bute and Cumbrae). We land at Hunters Quay and from here it’s only a short way to the hotel in Dunoon.
Day 2: We’ll take a scenic meandering drive to Loch Lomand past the famous ‘rest and be thankful’ summit and spend some time in the small village of Luss on the Banks of Loch Lomond. It is extremely picturesque and the cottages are so quaint and pretty, especially during the summer. The village was actually used as the set for a TV programme "Take the High Road" which was a popular long-running soap up to 2003.
After a while at Loch Lomond we visit the attractive seaside town of Helensburgh.
Day 3: A picture-postcard drive through the Argyll Forest and along the shores of Loch Fyne to stop a while in Inveraray. Later we head west, through the Glendaruel Forest Bute to the peaceful sailing resort of Tighnabruaich and enjoy some fabulous views across the Kyles of Bute and beyond.
Day 4: Today is left free so you can explore Dunoon at your own pace.
Day 5: After a last, hearty, Scottish breakfast, sadly, it’s time to go home.
